Day 1 - Bangkok

Arrival in Bangkok in the morning. Welcome by the guide to the exit door number 4 of the airport (same level as the one of your arrival).
Then a total change of scenery guaranteed during this day that will take you to the Grand Palace (Wat Phra Kaew) and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, protector of the city. Day 2 - Bangkok

Exploring the klongs

Mahasawat is only about 50 kms from Bangkok in Nakhon Pathom Province, near to Mahidol University’s Salaya Campus. The Province of Nakhon Pathom is criss-crossed by many canals (klongs) and irrigation ditches. Mahasawat is built along one of these canals which is the life source of the community, and for many, the only way of commuting.

Day 3 - Bangkok - Dammoen Saduak - Kanchanaburi

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

The most famous of the floating markets of Bangkok is Damnoen Saduak, about 100 kilometers southwest of Bangkok. This buzzing market is at its best in the early morning before the crowds arrive and the heat of the day builds up.

The JEATH War Museum

JEATH stands for Japan, England, America, Australia, Thailand and Holland, representing the nationalities of the prisoners of war (POW's) who were forced to work on the construction of the famous "Bridge On The River Kwai". The museum is on the bank of the River, inside Wat Chai Chumphon temple, and displays graphic images of the terrible conditions inflicted on the many young men that died and the many that survived to tell the story.

Day 4 - Erawan – Ayutthaya

Visit of Erawan National Park. Then continue to Ban Pa In, the King's summer palace. Transfer to Ayutthaya, hotel Kantary Studio Suite.

Erawan Waterfalls

Founded in 1975 as Thailands 12th National Park, it is covering an area of km². Located on West Thailand in the Tenasserim Hills of Kanchanaburi Province, it is one of the most famous national parks in Thailand. The major attraction of the park is Erawan Falls with emerald green ponds, named after the three-headed white elephant of Hindu mythology.

Ban Pa In

Ban Pa In is known as the summer palace of the Kings of Tailand. The palace dates back to the seventeenth century, pre-dating the establishment of Bangkok as the capitol, although it did fall into disuse for a long period. All the buildings you see date from its revival by King Mongkut (Rama IV) in the nineteenth century.

Visit Ayutthaya, second historic capital of the country, city of 33 kings, whose ruins extend over 15 km ² and became a well organized archaeological park.

Ayutthaya

Founded 1350, Ayutthaya became the second Siamese capital after Sukhothai. It was destroyed by the Burmese in the eighteenth century. Its remains, characterized by the prang or reliquary towers and the gigantic monasteries, give an idea of its past splendor.

Lopburi

Lopburi was one of the centers of the Dvaravati culture. She then came under Khmer domination at the time of the kingdom of Lavo, and was the second capital of the Kingdom of Ayutthaya in Narai the Great (Ramathibodi III reign 1657-1688). He built a large palatial assembly, the King Narai's Palace, which is now a museum.

Sukhothai

Sukhothai was the first capital of Siam founded in 1238 and ending the Khmer kingdom of Angkor Wat. Sukhothai was listed in 1991 as a World Heritage of Humanity. It is more famous for his art than for his political achievements.

Known as the temple of the bodhi tree, Wat Si Chum was built in circa 13th Buddhist century. The highlight is the graceful Buddha sculpture enshrined inside the remaining structure of the square mandala building. Located 1,500 meters from the north of the WatMahathat, Wat Si Chum is surrounded with the long moat acting like a boundary.

Lake Phayao is the 3rd largest freshwater lake in Thailand. It is located 380m above sea level, the beginnings of the northern mountains appear at the edge of the road. It is an artificial lake of 17 km2, formed by a dam created in 1941. The lake is 1.77m deep and counts to 22 species of fish.

Day 7 - Chiang Rai - Triangle d’or - Mae Sai

In the morning, visit the white temple (Wat Rong Khun). Then direction Mae Sai, border town with Burma. Mae Sai

Mae Sai, or locally more often, Maesai, is the northernmost city of Thailand. It is mainly a stepping stone for visits to Myanmar and has few attractions of its own.

Golden Triangle

The Golden Triangle is in Chiang Rai Province, in the far north of Thailand. The English name comes from the meeting of Laos, Myanmar and Thailand here, but to the locals it's Sop Ruak, since this is where the Mekong meets the Ruak River. Historically the Golden Triangle has been an area well-known for the growing of opium, and the name comes from a US State Department memo on the practice.

Travel on the Mekong, the most famous river, which take its source in China, sticks to the border between Thailand and Laos, cross Cambodia and finish in Vietnam. Your trip will be aboard a typical boat of 4 people.

The Opium Museum

The Golden Triangle used to be infamous as one of the largest producers of opium. Various Thai organizations led by the Royal Project and Doi Tung Development Project, have spent decades battling this trade. As part of this campaign, the Hall of Opium was built to educate people about the dangers of the drug through an entertaining exhibition which traces opium’s history from its first use 5,000 years ago to current issues of drug abuse and addiction.

Sur la route de Thaton, visite du village Padong (femmes-girafe). En chemin, visite des orangeries et d'une ferme d'orchidées.

Doi Mae salong

Mae Salong's early history centred on the the opium trade of the Golden Triangle. Its recent history was shaped by the 93rd Division of the Chinese Nationalist Army that refused to surrender to Chinese communists after the Nationalist Kuomintang government was routed in 1949. The local culture now changes to the oolong tea, which is now Mae Salong's main product.

Padong tribes

From Burma and forming a minority tribe Karrenis the Padongs fled to Northern Thailand, where they have the status of political refugee. They are about a thousand and are distributed in some villages. Padongs are special for the custom of their wives to surround the neck, since childhood, with a long necklace spiral, which gives the impression of extending that body part. From there come the names of "long-necks" or "giraffe women".
